Are you starting or expanding your native wildflower garden? We love that!

Colorado wildflowers are kind of our thing. We plant over 500k native seeds on our land every year and have given away over 1 million with our pressed flower art orders.

Each seed packet contains:

40+ Wild White Yarrow seeds.

Why we love Yarrow:

Our Columbine and Colorado Wildflower gardens are constantly attacked by Aphids and other pests if we plant them alone. Yarrow is our natural pest control, attracting beneficial insects like ladybugs and hoverflies.

We get to keep our gardens organic and chemical free, and more flowers are just better for the pollinators!

Yarrow is an excellent companion plant and thrives in similar conditions as your favorite Colorado wildflowers. We love our yarrow seeds because it's always difficult to determine which Yarrow seeds are actually native. Ours came with the land!

Yarrow is know for it's medicinal properties, is a very hardy perennial, and tolerates drought and poor soil and is deer-resistant. They are really easy and fast growers!

WHY ΠΑΤΙΝΕ GARDENS ARE THE BEST:

THEY PROMOTE BIODIVERSITY & A HEALTHIER ECOSYSTEM.

GENERALLY NEED LESS WATER THAN NON-NATIVE PLANTS.

ARE MORE RESILIENT TO LOCAL PESTS, DISEASES, AND HARSH HEATHER CONDITIONS.

PROVIDE FOOD SOURCES & HABITATS FOR POLLINATORS & LOCAL WILDLIFE.

*Tips*

To store your seeds, keep in a sealed container away from heat and bright light.

Choose a location: Yarrow prefers full sun (6-8 hours) and well-draining soil.
Prepare the soil: If starting indoors, use a seed-starting mix. If sowing directly outdoors, ensure the soil is well-draining and amend it with compost if needed.
Stratification (Optional): While not always necessary, a month of cold stratification (chilling the seeds) can improve germination rates, especially for fall or early spring sowing. You can achieve this by storing seeds in the refrigerator for a month.

Planting:
Indoors: Fill starter trays with moist seed-starting mix. Sprinkle the yarrow seeds on top of the mix, as they need light to germinate, and lightly press them in.
Outdoors: Sow seeds directly into the garden by broadcasting them onto moistened soil and gently pressing them in.
Do not cover the seeds: with soil, as they need light to germinate.

Germination:
Keep the soil moist: Water gently, such as with a spray bottle, to avoid disturbing the seeds.
Provide light: Place seed trays in a sunny window or under grow lights.
Maintain temperature: Aim for a soil temperature of 65-75°F (18-24°C) for optimal germination.
Germination time: Expect yarrow seeds to germinate within 1-2 weeks under optimal conditions.

Seedling Care:
Thin seedlings: Once seedlings emerge, thin them to the recommended spacing (18-24 inches apart) to prevent overcrowding.
Harden off: If started indoors, gradually acclimate seedlings to outdoor conditions by exposing them to increasing amounts of sunlight and cooler temperatures over a week or two before transplanting.
Transplant: Transplant seedlings into the prepared garden bed after the last frost.
