Introducing….How to be a Modern Martha, whatever your budget. 2024 edition.
I’m revamping this blog to start sharing tips, tricks, and love of all things cottage core, DIY, artsy craftsy, and broke boho. And yes, a BTS look in my studio and art making.
So what is it exactly???
Cottagecore is a design style and aesthetic that romanticizes a simple, rural life. It’s characterized by a nostalgic, whimsical, mystical sensibility. It often includes vintage themes, florals, natural elements, gardening, baking, homesteading, DIY crafts, pets, forest walks, and fantasy books.
I’m a life long artist, raised by an art teacher, and love myself a good broke DIY project, delicious simple recipe, good book, or vintage thrift. And let’s face it- my pets are my best friends.
I was hesitant starting this blog, because my husband and I are in the middle of a big move, and we have no idea where we are moving right now. Currently, we live in the rural mountains of Colorado. It’s a beautiful and very different lifestyle and aesthetic, which I have mostly adopted, and actually created my business around.
One thing is for sure- I’ll be a broke crafter no matter where I end up!
I just watched the new Martha Stewart documentary, and I loved it! She lives life like a man, with no apologies. But I am no Martha. I don’t have a large homestead, heck, I don’t even own a house. This is 2024, after all. I don’t throw lavish dinner parties, or have time to make elaborate cakes and centerpieces. And I’m certainly not a perfectionist. Just a fairly neurotic, creative type with endless ideas. So…here we go!
I’ll be publishing a blog here, once a week on Mondays. Consider me your personal craft consultant and new best friend. Thanks for stopping by!
